Local Option Municipal Economic Development Act (LB840)
The citizens of St. Paul passed Legislative Bill 840, a 15-year economic development plan in the spring of 2000. It was renewed in 2014 for another 15 years. This local option municipal sales tax designates a one percent (1%) tax for economic development use.
Property Improvement Program
With the Property Improvement Program, eligible property owners within St. Paul have the opportunity to apply for funding for activities such as building facade improvements, signage, exterior or ornamental painting, demolition, and awnings.
Venture capital is available through the St. Paul Area Investment Club, a local, for-profit investment group.
